Thinking of buying a DVD recorder with a USB port today. Will I be able to watch movies stored on the hard drive in my Sony TV, when I connect the hard drive connected to the USB DVD burner?

Later he added: Check the Pioneer DVR-640H-S DVD recorder with hard drive. It has USB port for an external device to view photo slideshows, and (I think) music, but saw no signs of an ability to display video files.
